Hey all! I don't know how many of you know this, but we are planning a furlough next year (April through Julyish). We don't have tickets or anything yet, so dates aren't firm.
Anyway, I am trying to think of stuff that might interest people - maybe putting together a display for the backs of churches we visit. I assume Benjamin will be sharing on most of the spiritual progress and such. I am interested in hearing what you would like to see or read about, so if you have any input, please let me know!
Thanks!
Shopping! =) Of course you'll have to wear something authentic....and bring some little trinkets or something...share about the people...the men, women, children...their lives...churches...foods...of course you can't bring all these things, but pictures would be great...you can buy a display board and set it all up. Hope you get that camera soon. =)
ReplyDeleteI would love to hear MORE about/see pictures of the trips Ben has taken (and those you've taken too). Maybe singing a song in the "native" tongue or a dialog between you and Ben. I just love hearing different languages! : ) Also, seeing a picture of the friends you often talk about. Its always nice to have a face to the name! But most of all I NEED detailed information on how the airport building project is coming along near you!!!
ReplyDeleteI think showing the different Tanzanian dances would be interesting and entertaining to watch...OK totally just kidding. Haha I would prefer not seeing them I'm quite certain. I do like little trinkets such as keychains or bookmarks. Try bringing at least one of your puppies home as they look adorable! More than anything, the best "gift" of all will be seeing you and Ben. We all miss you guys!
ReplyDeleteI think that a power point with pictures is great! Seeing maybe some of the native trinkets! I think that the suggestion of some dances would be something unusual that we don't normally see from visiting missionaries :) Can't wait to see you guys!
ReplyDeleteI personally would love to hear the behind the sense of the missionary life. Useful keys to how you and your husband learned create friendships with the native people. Pictures are always very helpful, showing little trinkets, and also singing is always a blessing!
ReplyDeleteHow about sharing what a typical day is for a man/woman/child in Tanzania? with some pictures? I think that always makes an impact on people, helps keep it fresh in their minds to pray for these people and for those who are trying to reach them!
